Friday Schedule “Discovery Days”

Friday’s we attend field trips or have guest speakers. These are the most special days because our Explorers get to be together outside of our normal routines. At the end of each Friday, we teachers always sigh and say “that was so magical”. Parents are often involved in all if not most of our days on Fridays and we truly get to be a community, out in the real world.

Homeschool Hybrid

A homeschool hybrid is a program that allows the parent to have a say in how often your child(ren) attend school. You can choose the traditional 5 day model or any of the other options on the right. If your child attends CCS part time, you are welcome to complete whatever school work you want at home. We do not have any requirements or work to completed for days not at school.

CCS offers the following options for families:

2 Days a week: Monday + Tuesday

2 Days a week: Wednesday + Thursday

3 Days a week: Monday + Tuesday + Friday

3 Days a week: Wednesday + Thursday + Friday

4 Days a week: Monday + Tuesday + Wednesday + Thursday

5 Days a week: Monday- Friday

Our Classrooms

Sprouts, Saplings, and Scouts are our age level grouping. Students will either be a Sprout (ages 5-7), a Sapling (ages 7-9) or a Scout (ages 9-11/12). Students will be taught with other students in their same age level but not necessarily the same academic level. Just because a student is a “Sprout”, they do not have to be working on material at a certain academic level. They will be learning at the level they are at, no matter their age/”grade level” in the traditional school setting. We will be adding Scholars (12+) as our current students grow.

  • Ages 5-7

    (Grades K-1)
    When children enter school for the first time, they are eager to learn about the world around them. We are here to show that love of learning how to grow, how to sprout.

  • Ages 7-9

    (Grades 2-3)

    We work on continuing a students love of learning. We continue to work on foundational academic skills while also fostering independence in who they are as a learner.

  • Ages 9-12

    (Grades 4-6)
    As students learn who they are, they start becoming interested in topics and projects that bring them joy. We are here to show them how to find those passions and start scouting their own learning journey.

  • Ages 12-18

    Grades 7-12
    (Beginning in 2027-2028)

    Students who have had a foundation in core knowledge and who have developed a love of learning, are ready to take on a world of learning and become experts in their areas of interest.

Curriculum

  • We believe that education should inspire children, not exhaust them. We choose our curriculums with intention and will change them if we find that they are not helping our Explorer’s grow.

  • Custom designed unit studies. We have curriculums we use and curriculums that have been created especially for our school. We teach this subjects in a group setting and then break out into smaller age level groups for discussion. We also end with project time each day.

  • This is student led. We use nature notebooks to discover the world around us and then dig deeper into topics that we find interesting.
